JobSnap is a mobile app designed for contractors to manage job‑site records on the go. Store client contact info, capture site photos, log service notes, and keep everything organized in one secure place.
JobSnap requires Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or higher. It’s optimized for phones and tablets, and works offline so you can use it even in areas without cell or Wi‑Fi coverage.
Install JobSnap from Google Play.
Open the app and create a new account (enter a password you’ll remember).
Select the trades you work in (e.g. plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
You’re ready to add clients, photos, and service details.
On the Login screen, enter your password. Once authenticated, you’ll be taken to either the trade‑selection page (if you haven’t yet chosen your trades) or straight into your dashboard.
Yes. From the navigation drawer, tap Edit Trades, then choose Change Password. Enter your current password, then type and confirm a new one.
Yes—open the navigation drawer and tap Edit Trades. Select or deselect any trades that apply to your business, then tap Save.
After your first password sign‑in, you’ll see a prompt to “Enable biometric login” if your device supports it. Tap Enable and follow the on‑screen dialog. Future logins will then let you use your fingerprint or face instead of typing your password.
If you’d rather go back to password‑only access, you can:
Tap the Clients tab on the dashboard.
Press the + Add Client button.
Fill in name, phone, email, and other details.
Tap Save.
Open the navigation drawer and select Import Contacts. Grant access to your phone’s contacts, then choose which contacts to bring into JobSnap.
In the client’s detail screen, tap the phone or email icon to call, text, or email them without leaving JobSnap.
Capture: In a client’s detail screen, tap Add Photo to open the camera. Snap your photo, then it’s automatically saved and tagged to that client.
View: Tap the Photos tab to browse thumbnails. Tap any photo to view it full‑screen or swipe to delete/share.
Within a client’s detail view, switch to the Services tab. Tap + Add Note, enter what work was done (materials used, hours, etc.), and hit Save.
JobSnap now lets you pick your photo resolution to balance image detail against file size. Open the navigation drawer, tap Settings → Photo Quality, and choose Low, Medium, or High. Lower settings use less storage and upload bandwidth.
Yes—JobSnap uses a switch in the menu to activate/deactivate darkmode!
Backup: From the navigation drawer, choose Backup. The app will bundle your database and photos into a ZIP you can save or share.
Restore: Select Restore in the drawer, then pick a previously created backup ZIP. You will then be prompted to restore either the entire app, or just a single client.
Absolutely. Your password is SHA‑256 hashed and stored using Android’s EncryptedSharedPreferences. The local database and photo files are sandboxed to your app’s private storage.
Make sure you’re running the latest version of JobSnap from Google Play.
Restart your device.
